EHS Consultant/Specialist

JOB TITLE: EHS REPRESENTATIVE

START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 3 MONTHS

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The purpose of the job is to prevent harm to employees or the environment and to ensure operation of the site in compliance with EHS compliance obligations.

The roles of the job are:
Expert in identification and risk assessment of unsafe conditions
Expert in investigation of EHS events
Trainer on EHS programs
EHS management on construction sites

% of Time:
30% EHS expert in project design and implementation
30 % Lead risk assessments
10 % Training on EHS programs
30 % EHS management on construction sites

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Professional apprenticeship
- Safety officer training

Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Continuous improvement and solution oriented
- Rigourous and maintains high standards of performance
- Proficient computer skills
- Fluent in French and good working knowledge in English
- Ensure that applicable professional certifications are maintained
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements, standards and other guidelines

Complexity and problem solving:
- Identify the situations and events that have the potential to cause serious injuries, incidents or fatalities and prioritise corrective / preventive actions accordingly
- Seek out solutions to enable easier work that creates safer conditions
