L2 Application Support / Operation Engineer

Overview of the position:

On behalf of our client, a large bank in Zürich, we are looking for a L2 Application Support / Operation Engineer to join a fun and vibrant team.

Location: Zürich

Duration: 12 Months

Start: October 2024

Main responsibilities:

  • Application Monitoring & Incident Management: Continuously monitor banking applications, troubleshoot issues, and manage incidents to ensure high availability.
  • Unix & Shell Scripting: Create, modify, and maintain shell scripts for automation and perform Unix system administration tasks.
  • Windows Server Administration: Manage and troubleshoot Windows servers hosting banking applications, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Java Application Server Support: Manage and support Java application servers, handling deployment, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Database Management: Support databases by running SQL queries, monitoring performance, and ensuring data integrity.
  • AWA (Automic Workload Automation): Manage job scheduling and automation scripts within AWA to streamline banking operations.
  • Temenos T24 - TAFJ Support: Provide specialized support for the Temenos T24 system, managing deployments, troubleshooting, and ensuring system stability.
  • ITIL Process Adherence: Apply ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management, ensuring process compliance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as a liaison between teams and provide support to end-users and business stakeholders.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with security policies, monitor logs, and address vulnerabilities on Unix and Windows servers.

Your expertise:

  • Completed IT training (Degree in Computer Science or other IT related certification)
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
  • Good Unix know-how (shell scripting is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Windows OS at server level
  • Knowledge of Java application server / database / AWA is an advantage
  • Experience in Temenos T24 - TAFJ
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Fluent English and fluent German
