On behalf of our client, a large bank in Zürich, we are looking for an Application Engineer.

Main responsibilities

• Assure system availability and stability, playing a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the Securities Lending and Borrowing platform.
• Support business colleagues by addressing their daily work needs and running investigations into trade processing, P&L/reconciliation breaks, and other operational issues.
• Raise recommendations for system and process improvements, actively identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Generate reports as per business needs, providing valuable insights and data for decision-making purposes.
• Act as an essential stakeholder in fully automating the Securities Lending and Borrowing business, driving digitization efforts.
• Participate as a member of our agile organization, engaging in daily routines and ceremonies to promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a local gateway between Markets IT and the Central IT department, as well as the vendor, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
• Support the upgrade to the latest version of the platform by providing advisory expertise as a senior expert and conducting tests.

Your skills:

• 5 years of practical hands-on experience as an IT Engineer, Administrator, or Developer specifically with "FIS Securities Finance Trading and Collateral Platform" (formerly Apex Collateral Management/Finance). This experience is a must-have requirement.
• Strong business understanding in Securities Lending and Borrowing, with knowledge of industry practices and processes.
• Profound developer knowledge in Java/JMS and SQL, enabling you to effectively navigate and enhance the application.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodology, understanding the principles and practices of agile software development.
• Excellent communication skills - fluent in both German & English.
