Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for a Collibra & Data Platform Manager.

Location: Zürich

Start date: 01.12.2024

End date: 31.12.2025

Main responsibilities

• Platform Operations: Operate and maintain global data platform components including VM Servers, Kubernetes clusters, Kafka, and related applications such as Apache stack, Collibra, and Dataiku.
• Collibra Administration: Perform system administration for Collibra, including user management, access controls, edge server configuration, and API/Service integration.
• DevOps & CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with development teams to define, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Automation & Scripting: Utilize advanced scripting skills (Bash, Python) to automate processes, scale VMs, manage Docker images, and support deployment pipelines.
• Incident Management: Perform incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve platform issues quickly and effectively.
• Documentation & Blueprinting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution designs, security concepts, and operational blueprints for data platform operations.
• Monitoring & KPIs: Implement monitoring tools to track platform performance, measure customer experience, and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).

Your skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating and managing cluster environments (preferably in the financial industry).
• Proven experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Extensive experience in data integration, data consumption, and managing data catalogs (MDM).
• Strong experience with APIs, web services, and automation tools.
• Proficiency in operating Kubernetes clusters, managing Docker images with Harbor, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced scripting capabilities (Bash, Python) to drive automation.
• Solid understanding of virtual machine (VM) setup, scaling, and Kubernetes (K8S) scaling.
• Strong collaborative skills with a commitment to team success and shared objectives.
• Eagerness to initiate changes, innovate, and continuously improve operational processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English, and fluent German.
