Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for a Mechanical & Physical Engineer.
Location: Basel
Start date: 01.01.2025
End date: 31.12.2025
Main responsibilities
- Performing standard Charpy, tensile, fatigue, fracture mechanics, hardness, dynamic modulus, specific heat, thermal diffusivity and thermal expansion testing and non-standard testing supporting research of material performance in a laboratory environment.
- Performing specimen preparation, data collection and analysis, and detailed report generation.
- Supporting design, operation, modification and maintenance of equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Troubleshooting of test setup and equipment hardware and software. Communication with external vendors to resolve issues will be required.
- Preparing work instructions and procedures.
- Understanding and applying laboratory practices with a primary focus on safety, and inspection/monitoring
Your skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory testing procedures, including materials testing and data analysis.
- Familiarity with testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving equipment and test setup issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report generation and vendor communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining individual responsibility for test execution and reporting.Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
