Senior DevOps Engineer/DevSecOps Engineer (Azure environment)

Our client, a multinational organization, is executing a project for a prominent healthcare company. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevSecOps Engineer for a contracting role. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure and a strong background in integrating security practices within DevOps processes to protect sensitive health data.

Location: Bern / Hybrid Remote (3 days onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Language Requirements: English fluent, German (minimum B1 required)

Duration: June 2025, possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Embed security into the DevOps lifecycle, particularly focusing on Azure environments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to enhance security processes.
• Continuously improve security processes and tools in alignment with industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Implement and manage security monitoring tools and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise security awareness among development and operations teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, SecOps, or a similar role.
• Proven experience in a DevSecOps role, preferably within the healthcare industry.

Technical Skills:

• Deep knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure, including Azure security tools and best practices.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) in an Azure environment.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Security Certifications: CISSP or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with healthcare data security standards
• Knowledge of threat modeling and risk assessment techniques.
• Azure-specific certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
