Protecting your privacy is of the utmost importance to ManpowerGroup Switzerland ("ManpowerGroup", "we", "our" or "us"). We process all personal Data entrusted to us ("Data") in accordance with applicable Data protection laws, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection ("FADP"), where applicable.
This Privacy Notice is designed to help you understand why we collect your information, how we use it, what your rights are and how you can exercise them.

This Privacy Notice applies to the processing of information we collect when you visit our websites, social media channels, stores, or use our apps, when we provide our services to you, when you interact or otherwise communicate with us under a contract, and to the Data processing of individuals working for companies with whom we have or wish to have a business relationship.

This Privacy Notice also applies to cases where a ManpowerGroup company is the Data Controller or where several companies act as joint Data Controllers. This is the case, for example, in the operation of a joint Database for applicants and candidates, clients, and interested parties for the purpose of optimized project and job filling.
Data collected by us
During our business activities, we collect Data in various ways, e.g., via our websites and social media channels, at events organized by us, via telephone and fax, during job applications and in connection with face-to-face conversations, and during interaction with customers and sup-pliers. Depending on the nature of the business relationship, we may also collect the following categories of Data in particular:
Contact information (e.g., name, mailing address, email address, and phone number).
Registration Data (e.g., username and password) when you register on our websites or in our apps.
Other information you provide to us, e.g., in surveys or via the "contact us" function on our websites.
When you apply to us or create a user account, we may collect these types of Data to the extent permitted by applicable law:
Personal characteristics and identification information (e.g., gender, date of birth, correspondence language, nationality, residence and work permit information, national identification numbers, if applicable).
Curriculum vitae and other personal information (e.g., information on educational and professional background, photo, job references, results of any (online) tests, project listing, language and other skills, salary information) as well as personal Data included in the application. also
Information we have received as part of your application (e.g., recordings of video ap-plication interviews you attend, interview evaluations, information from references, and other information such as criminal records and debt enforcement information that you voluntarily provide to us when you submit your application, including special categories of Data such as health Data, if applicable); and
Communication Data (e.g., personal and business emails sent and received, including document attachments, telephone calls, messages via SMS, instant messaging and chat, or any other digital communication (e.g., via user account, web form) in interaction with ManpowerGroup Systems).
If you provide or disclose Data about your family or other third parties (e.g., emergency contacts or references) as part of your application, we assume that you are authorized to do so, and that this Data is correct. By submitting Data about third parties, you confirm this. Further-more, you also ensure that these third parties have been informed about this Privacy Notice.
When you accept a position with ManpowerGroup or an assignment as a temporary employee with one of our clients, we also collect the following Data:
Information about the family (e.g., marital status).
Financial information (e.g., bank details, tax-related Data).
Social security number (AHV number).
In some cases, the Data we process may also include special categories of Data (e.g., health, diversity, or ethnic information, etc.), as well as drug test results, criminal and other background checks, to the extent permitted under applicable Data protection laws.
As a rule, your Data is collected directly from you as part of the application process. In certain constellations, your Data may also be gathered from other bodies (especially public authorities) due to legal requirements. In addition, we may have received Data from third parties (e.g., employment agencies, job boards, background check providers or from publicly accessible sources such as social networking platforms).
Purposes and legal basis of Data processing
ManpowerGroup processes your Data within the framework of the applicable Data protection laws for the following purposes:
to provide staffing solutions and employment services.
for the management of our customer and supplier relationships.
to the extent permitted by law to communicate about and administer special events promotions programs offers surveys contests and market research.
for answering individual inquiries.
for operating evaluating and improving our business (including developing improving analyzing and enhancing our services; managing our communications; performing Data analysis; performing accounting auditing and other internal functions).
to protect against fraud and other unlawful acts claims and other liabilities.
to comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements relevant industry standards contractual obligations and our internal policies; and
for creating synergies in the ManpowerGroup to implement efficient solutions and benefit from specialist expertise in our affiliated group (including the operation of shared IT solutions and Databases).
In addition we typically use Data from applicants or temporary employees for the following purposes:
to create and manage user accounts on our websites and in our apps.
to offer you job opportunities and projects.
to provide additional services such as education and training vocational counseling and guidance in career reorientation.
to carry out activities such as the suitability check of your qualifications and experience.
to provide HR services including contract preparation and completion; personnel and assignment administration; management of external providers (e.g. insurance companies pension funds); payroll; and human resources management.
to conduct Data analysis such as (i) analyzing our Database of applicants and employees; (ii) assessing individual performance and skills including assessment of job-related skills; (iii) identifying skill shortages; (iv) using information to highlight potential opportunities to individuals; and (v) analyzing hiring trends in the pipeline.
to provide you with information about possible available positions; and
for compliance & risk management and/or crime prevention; detection & investigation (e.g. to comply with legal and regulatory obligations imposed on ManpowerGroup with respect to its hiring practices or to respond to governmental requests or inquiries).
We also may use the information in other ways for which we provide specific notice at or prior to the time of collection.
Legitimate Business Interest
We process personal Data for legitimate business purposes in accordance with applicable laws including:
where the process enables us to enhance modify personalize or otherwise improve our services/communications for the benefit of our clients candidates and associates.
to enhance efficiencies through synergies across ManpowerGroup (e.g. sharing IT solutions or exchanging Data with subsidiaries and affiliates to leverage their expertise in respective fields).
to identify and prevent fraud.
to enhance security of our network and information systems.
to better understand how people interact with our websites.
for direct marketing purposes.
to provide postal communications to you which we think will be of interest to you; and
to determine the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and advertising.
Whenever we process Data for these interests we will ensure that we keep your rights in high regard and take account of these rights. You can object to such processing and may do so by contacting us as described below. Please bear in mind that if you exercise your right to object this may affect our ability to carry out and deliver services to you for your benefit.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML)
A number of the services we offer are enabled with AI which may include AI/ML. With the assistance of AI we can connect the right individuals with the best opportunities and get people into work more efficiently or prepare them for the job market more readily.
We perform risk assessments of the AI solutions we use at ManpowerGroup and use human oversight to the fullest extent possible to ensure no automated decisions are made that produce any legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
If you are receiving a service that includes the use of AI/ML you should be informed of this in more detail within the privacy notice provided in connection with that particular service.
Use of our website, general information, so-called log files
Each time our website is accessed our system automatically collects Data and information from the user's computer system. Information is collected about:
the browser type and version used.
the operating system of the user.
the Internet service provider of the user.
the IP address of the user.
Date and time of access.
Websites from which the user's system accesses our website.
Websites that are called up by the user's system via our website.
The described Data is temporarily stored in the log files of our system. There is no storage of this Data together with other Data of the user.
The collection and storage of this Data is necessary for the operation to ensure the functionality and correct delivery of our website. In addition we use the Data to optimize our website and to ensure the security of our IT systems.
Cookies, web analytics services and social media
We use cookies web analytics services and social media plugins on this website and other integrated ManpowerGroup websites and apps (“Sites”).

Marketing Communications
Only if you have given your consent will we send you marketing information electronically via e-mail SMS and MMS e.g. in the form of a newsletter on current topics and offers that may be of interest to you and are related to our services. If you register for our marketing communications the Data you provide in this context (such as name e-mail address and telephone number) will be processed by us for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. You can revoke your consent at any time.
If you represent our customers suppliers and partners we may send you information about products offers and services from us and from third parties. This may take place for example in the form of newsletters and other regular contacts (e-mail SMS MMS by post by telephone) via other channels for which we have contact information from you but also as part of individual marketing campaigns (e.g. events invitations competitions etc.). In this case the processing of your Data is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining our business relationship and maintaining and expanding our customer base. You can unsubscribe from receiving these marketing communications at any time e.g. via the corresponding unsubscribe function in the marketing mailing.
Data transfers to third parties
We share Data only in accordance with this Privacy Notice or with respect to certain activities in accordance with separate privacy notices.
We may share Data with suppliers partners and vendors (e.g. IT and hosting providers advertising service providers etc.) who perform services on our behalf in accordance with our instructions. We allow these providers to use or disclose the Data only to the extent necessary to provide the contracted services or to comply with legal requirements.
We may also transfer Data to third parties as follows:
to subsidiaries and to companies affiliated with us for storage in central Databases and for intra-group billing and accounting purposes.
if you are an applicant or freelancer to clients who have vacancies or projects or who are interested in placing our applicants or freelancers; and
to others such as job consultants and subcontractors with whom we work to find you a job or project.
if we are required to do so by law or regulation.
to law enforcement or government officials based on a lawful disclosure request; and
when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity.
Further we also reserve the right to transfer Data if we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a reorganization dissolution or liquidation).
Data transfers abroad
We also may transfer personal Data to ManpowerGroup Affiliates as well as to service providers and other third parties commissioned by ManpowerGroup outside of Switzerland including in third countries that do not offer an adequate level of protection provided that the requirements imposed by applicable Data protection laws and regulations are complied with.
When we transfer personal Data from within Switzerland the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom to countries that do not benefit from Adequacy Agreements transfers will take place on the basis of:
a legally binding and enforceable instrument between public authorities or bodies.
binding corporate rules.
standard contractual clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission, including mandatory adoption provisions required for Switzerland and the UK, when processing involves residents of these countries.
Where transfers rely on SCCs, transfers will only take place after a transfer impact assessment of:
The legal practices of the recipient country relating to access to Data.
The technical and organizational measures adopted to protect the Data; and
The nature of the processing to ensure purpose limitation and Data minimization.
ManpowerGroup (including ManpowerGroup Global Inc. and Right Management Inc.) complies with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (EU-US DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-US DPF) as set forth by the US Department of Commerce. ManpowerGroup has certified to the US Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-US DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal Data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-US DPF and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) under the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF. ManpowerGroup has certified to the US Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework Principles (Swiss-US DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal Data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-US DPF. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-US DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-US DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern. ManpowerGroup is responsible for the processing of personal Data it receives, under the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and Swiss-US DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. ManpowerGroup complies with the EU-US DPF Principles and the Swiss-US DPF Principles for all onward transfers of personal Data from the EU, UK, and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.
The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over ManpowerGroup’s compliance with the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US DPF. In certain situations, ManpowerGroup may be required to disclose personal Data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
In compliance with the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US DPF, ManpowerGroup commits to refer unresolved complaints concerning our handling of personal Data received in reliance on the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US DPF to TRUSTe, an alternative dispute resolution provider based in the United States. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your DPF Principles-related complaint from us, or if we have not addressed your DPF Principles-related complaint to your satisfaction, please visit https://feedback-form.truste.com/watchdog/request for more information or to file a complaint. These dispute resolution services are provided at no cost to you.
In the context of the employment relationship, in compliance with the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US DPF, ManpowerGroup commits to cooperate and comply with the advice of the panel established by the EU Data protection authorities (DPAs), the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority (GRA), and the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) with regard to unresolved complaints concerning our handling of human resources Data received in reliance on the EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and the Swiss-US DPF.
For complaints regarding EU-US DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-US DPF, and Swiss-US DPF compliance not resolved by any of the other DPF mechanisms, you have the possibility, under certain conditions, to invoke binding arbitration. Storage of your Data
We store your Data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by contractual and legal retention periods and our legitimate interests for documentation and verification purposes, or as long as storage is technically necessary. If there are no legal or contractual obligations to the contrary, we delete or anonymize your Data after the storage or processing period has expired as part of our routine procedures.
How we protect your Data
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the person-al Data we collect against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. Such measures are designed to provide an appropriate level of se-curity taking account, on one hand, the technical state of the art and, on the other hand, the sensitivity of the personal Data and the evaluation of potential risks.
To provide the appropriate security and confidentiality of personal Data, we apply the following non-exhaustive list of measures, as appropriate:
Encryption of Data at rest and in transit using industry standard encryption algorithms with appropriate key lengths.
Strong user authentication and role-based access controls.
Network monitoring solutions with events logging.
Hardened network infrastructure.
Measures for ensuring physical security of locations at which personal Data are processed.
Business continuity and disaster recovery plans with periodic testing.

Your Privacy rights
In connection with our Data processing, you also have the following rights, in accordance with applicable Data protection laws:
The right to request information from us as to whether we process personal Data concerning you.
The right to have us correct Data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
The right to request the deletion of Data.
The right to request that we provide certain personal Data in a commonly used electronic format or transfer it to another Data Controller.
The right to object to Data processing on grounds established by law.
The right to withdraw consent, insofar as our processing is based on your consent.
The right not to be subject to exclusively automated individual decisions where such pro-cessing produces a legal effect concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
Exercise your rights
If you have a user account, you can access much of the Data stored about you. You can view and change your portal account Data at any time, for example, update your resume or delete profile attributes and manage your settings. If you wish to change or delete Data that you cannot do yourself, or if you want to exercise other of your Privacy rights, you can fill out this form here.
Under applicable Data protection laws, these rights are subject to conditions, exceptions, or limitations (e.g., to protect third parties or to comply with legal requirements). If we do not com-ply with your request, we may inform you accordingly.
Please note that exercising some rights, such as deletion, revocation of consent or objection, may affect our ability to provide some or all our services to you for your benefit.
If you do not agree with our handling of your rights or Data protection, you can contact our Da-ta Protection Officer (see section Contact). In addition, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data protection authority of the country in which you reside or work or in which the alleged violation occurred.
